Parking

Navy Pier's on-site parking garages accommodates 1,600 cars at Navy Pier. Self-park flat-rates (including $3.50 city & county tax and subject to change) are $19.00 per day Mon.-Thurs. and $23 per day Fri-Sun and holidays.

CTA Bus & Rapid Transit (L)

Red line trains serve Grand and State stop. Free trolley service is available from that stop.

Busses include the #29 (State Street), the #65 (Grand Avenue) which is equipped with bike racks, and the #66 (Chicago Avenue). During weekday rush hours, the #120 (Northwestern/Wacker Express), serving the Ogilvie Transportation Center, and #121 (Union/Wacker Express), serve Navy Pier and their respective METRA train terminals. Additional daily service is provided by the #124 Navy Pier. Running every 15 minutes from Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center, busses operate from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. throughout the summer, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. the rest of the year. Free Trolley

The Illinois-Grand Corridor Transportation Management Association (TMA) offers daily free trolley service between Navy Pier and State Street along Grand Avenue and Illinois Street. Current Trolley are Mondays through Thursdays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sundays 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Trolleys typically run every 20 minutes. Pick-up points are indicated by "Navy Pier Trolley Stop" signs posted along the route. For more information on the TMA, please visit www.tylin.com.

The museum campus includes several parking lots. For details on which suits you best, visit Soldier Field Parking

Public Transit

From Downtown and Michigan Avenue

  • CTA bus #146, which stops along Michigan Avenue north of the river and on State Street south of the river.
  • CTA bus #6, the Jeffery Express, also stops on State Street between Wacker and Congress. This bus stops at Roosevelt Road and Columbus Drive. Cross Columbus Drive and walk east through the Museum Campus.

From the CTA Orange, Red or Green lines.

  • Exit the trains at the Roosevelt stop.
  • From there, you can take CTA bus #12 Roosevelt Road.

From the South Side and Northwest Indiana

  • CTA bus #6, the Jeffery Express, serves the southside of Chicago and Hyde Park. This bus stops at Roosevelt Road and Columbus Drive. Walk east through the Museum Campus.
  • Take the South Shore or the Metra Electric trains to the Roosevelt Road stop. Cross Columbus Drive and walk east.

The east entrance/exit to the Metra Roosevelt Road station is closed until further notice. To access the Museum Campus:

  • Walk west to Michigan Avenue.
  • Turn south on Michigan Avenue to Roosevelt
  • Turn east on Roosevelt to the Museum Campus underpass.
  • Signage for access to the Museum Campus has also been posted.

From Downtown Metra Terminals

Union Station

  • Take CTA bus #1 or #151 to State Street. Transfer to CTA bus #146 south. From mid-may through Labor Day, bus #130 runs directly from Union Station to the Museum on weekends.

LaSalle Street Station

  • Pick up the #146 bus on State Street at Van Buren.

Free Trolley Service:

  • The City of Chicago's free trolley system connects the Museum Campus with downtown visitor destinations and train stations. Trolleys run daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day, weekends only during the fall and winter, and additional daily service during the holidays. Service schedules vary by trolley route.
