Safety First!
Our vessels are United States Coast Guard certified and piloted by USCG Certified Master Captains. Although the vessels are partially enclosed, all attendees should make appropriate plans for an outdoor activity.

Shoreline Sightseeing’s fun, convenient and informative field trips have been specially designed to give school groups a memorable experience!
Waterfront Adventure Tour
Shoreline’s Waterfront Adventure from Navy Pier combines an exciting Lake Michigan boat tour with a professional narration on Chicago’s dramatic history. Your students will learn about milestones in Chicago’s growth including the reversing of the Chicago River and the construction of famous museums such as the Shedd Aquarium.

Waterfront Education Package
Architecture Cruises
Shoreline’s Architecture Cruises on the Chicago River are a popular option for older students. Tours are led by professional docents who explain how Chicago rose from the ashes of the Great Fire of 1871 to become the home of the skyscraper and the birthplace of modern architecture. Cruises include more than 40 famed landmarks including works by Helmut Jahn and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Architecture Education Package
Professionally prepared advance educational materials for teachers or counselors are included with both the Waterfront Adventure and the Architecture Cruise.
Water Taxis
Special student rates are also available for Shoreline’s Water Taxis. Taxis offer a unique way of seeing Chicago and making connections between some of the city’s top attractions. The Shoreline River Taxi runs between the Sears Tower (dock across from Union Station) and Navy Pier, and the Harbor Taxi runs between Navy Pier and the Museum Campus.
