CHICAGO’S SHORELINE SIGHTSEEING TO ADD SPECIAL CRUISES TO THEIR 68th BOAT TOUR SEASON
SPECIAL tHEME CRUISES JOIN ARCHITECTURE CRUISES, SKYLINE BOAT TOURS AND WATER TAXIS
MAY
1, 2007
Chicago, IL: Shoreline Sightseeing, Chicago’s largest and most diverse boat touring company, is adding a variety of special cruises to their regular schedule of Chicago River Architecture Cruises, Lake Michigan Skyline Boat Tours and colorful Water Taxis. Now in their 68th season, Shoreline will offer a variety of special cruises including “Toast to Tuesdays,” “Wine Tastings” and “Oktoberfest” cruises. Fireworks Cruises to view the Navy Pier fireworks will also run Wednesdays and Saturdays all summer.
Shoreline Sightseeing’s fleet includes nine major touring vessels and eight water taxis. Co-owners Chip and Matt Collopy represent the third generation to head the family owned company. “Navy Pier has been an ideal location for Shoreline,” said Chip Collopy. “We typically carry a mix of local, national and international passengers during our season, and all our passengers love coming to Navy Pier. Each year, the Pier offers more in the way of entertainment, exhibits and family oriented events.”
Shoreline Architecture Cruises are led by professional guides who educate and entertain passengers as they recount the dramatic story of Chicago’s amazing rise after the Great Fire of 1871 to become the birthplace of the skyscraper and the home of modern American Architecture. The cruise highlights over 40 famous buildings as it winds its way along the historic Chicago River.
Shoreline’s famous Skyline Boat Tours on Lake Michigan encompass the entire panorama of Chicago’s famous lakefront and include a narration on Chicago’s vivid history and famous landmarks. Shoreline’s colorful Water Taxis provide fast, convenient and fun transportation from Navy Pier to Sears Tower or to the Museum Campus. A new dock at the Michigan Avenue Bridge will open later this summer, adding water taxi services for commuters and the general public.
