SHORELINE SIGHTSEEING PLANS FALL EVENTS

Oktoberfest Lunch Cruises, Friday Night Fireworks Highlight Fall season;
regular service set through November

Chicago, IL:  Shoreline Sightseeing celebrates Chicago’s spectacular fall season with special events, including Oktoberfest Lunch Cruises September 29 and October 6th and Fireworks Cruises every Friday in October.

Shoreline’s 90-minute Oktoberfest River Cruises depart from Navy Pier at 12:00 noon, returning at 1:30.  The Cruise includes traditional lunch of brats and beer or soda plus German music and docent commentary on Chicago’s famous architecture as well as the role the German community played in shaping modern Chicago.   Fireworks Cruises will take place October 5, 12, 19 and 26, departing Navy Pier at 8:30 pm for a skyline tour and front row seat for the 9:00 pm special fall Navy Pier fireworks.  In addition to their themed fall cruises, Shoreline will run their traditional Architecture Cruises and Skyline Boat Tours weekends through November 27

“Fall is a busy season in Chicago and we wanted to add some special options for our local and out of town visitors,” said Chip Collopy, co-owner of Shoreline Sightseeing.
“Our Oktoberfest Cruise is a great opportunity to enjoy a one last beer and brats lunch plus a custom tour and some traditional German music while cruising on the historic Chicago River.  We’re delighted that Navy Pier has added their Fall Fireworks – it’s a great way to celebrate fall in Chicago.”

Shoreline’s standard one-hour cruises on the historic Chicago River feature over 40 American architectural landmarks including works by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Halmut Jahn. Cruises are led by professional, entertaining guides and passengers receive a professionally illustrated map / guide as a souvenir of their trip. Shoreline’s classic Skyline Boat Tours showcase the city’s dramatic skyline on half-hour Lake Michigan tours.  The narrated cruises cover Chicago’s colorful history and famous landmarks.
