Best boat tour I've been on. The guide was a fantastic, engaging, knowledgeable speaker. The crew was friendly and professional. I learned and retained a lot of information and am now itching to learn more about Chicago. You could hear the guide's passion for the city in his spiel. Worth every penny.Rachel B from Alexandria, VA | Source: Yelp 5/8/2014
Took the architectural boat tour on Friday, May 23 at 1:30 with Victor as guide. He stole the show; brilliant. Incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about architecture and city planning; exquisite timing in going from building to building. He made Chicago seem like a living organism that is constantly evolving. One of the best guides I've experienced in my 63 years of traveling to more than 60 countries around the world. Thank you, Victor.Jeffrey Boutwell, Ph.D. from Columbia, MD | Source: Yelp.com 5/24/2014
The architectural boat tour is the one tourist attraction I like to take my out of town guests to experience in my city.
The Shoreline Sightseeing architectural tour was, by far, the most informative and fun boat tour I have ever been on in Chicago. It's definitely fun to be a tourist in your own city sometimes! Some friends and I went this past weekend and Heather was just a riot. She is an excellent tour guide who has such an expansive knowledge of Chicago architecture as well as the city itself. I would definitely ride with Shoreline and Heather again.Ankit P. from Chicago, IL | Source: Yelp.com 4/21/2014
Don't walk, RUN to Shoreline Sightseeing.
I have been coming to Chicago for several years for business and was in town last Sunday. The weather was beautiful and I decided to finally take a cruise on the river. The staff at Shoreline was very pleasant and I was on the Voyager for a 75 minute cruise.
Our guide John started talking about the beautiful Wrigley Building and did not stop until we pulled back to the dock - it was impressive. Very informative, educational, funny and entertaining are the best words I can use to describe his tour. His passion for architecture and the City of Chicago are clearly evident and I highly recommend John and Shoreline to anyone who is looking for a very fun time on the river.Joe M. from New York, NY | Source: Trip Advisor 5/21/2014
Tourist attraction that is a must!
This was the most highly recommended attraction from all my friends. It's best to book ahead. If you sign up for the newsletter online, you save $5. We went on the first boat ride in the morning so it's wasn't as busy. It's a great way to see the city and learn about its history in a short period of time. Remember to dress warm, being on the water is always colder. You also get a lot of nice pictures while you're at it. Highly recommended. I'm usually find a lot of tourist attractions overrated but this one was one of my favorites in Chicago.Anhtrann from Calgary, Canada | Source: Trip Advisor 5/17/2014
Rain or Shine! The show must go on.
We loved the Architectural Tour on the River through downtown Chicago. My husband and I were walking near Jackson street when we saw a tour representative that explained the tour to us. We opted to take the 4:30 trip and the staff in the Orange shirts were waiting right by the entrance to show us how to purchase tickets at the electronic station. We boarded the water taxi that tooks us to the boat tour stop and the adventure began. This tour is a must if you truly want to appreciate Chicago's beautiful buildings and a bit of history on the builders. On the return trip it started to drizzle, then started to rain and I noticed the Guide didn't miss a beat, he just kept on plugging away. One of the staff emerged with rain ponchos for everyone...complimentary! So on with the show!! We did our best to enjoy ourselves. Here's my tip: Check the weather, take an early tour if its going to rain in the afternoon, go to the bathroom before boarding the boat!, bring water, bring snacks, bring an umbrella, bring your camera!!! but above all enjoy the best 75 minutes money can buy for an amazing tour!!TravLin93 from Orlando, FL | Source: Trip Advisor 5/15/2014
Architectural River Tour
Really excellent tour, taking 75 minutes. The trip was brought to life by our guide, James, whose delivery of the fascinating information was by turns interesting, quirky and amusing. Would definitely recommend this as a good way to discover Chicago and its history.Cally5108 from Chicago, IL | Source: Trip Advisor 5/14/2014
